A 16-year-old girl from Vernon Center died on Thursday after hitting a truck head-on in Southern Minnesota, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The girl, whose name was not released, was driving south Highway 169 in Blue Earth County in Vernon Center township, when she collided with a truck heading north on the highway. The truck driver was not injured.
The state patrol did not provide a reason for the crash.
