Underwood teacher charged after allegedly standing on child as punishment

An Underwood, Minn., teacher has been charged with malicious punishment of a child after being accused of standing on the back of a sixth-grade student who did not take a lockdown drill seriously, according to Valley News Live.
The criminal complaint alleges that the student, who was lying on his stomach during the drill, told investigators that the teacher, who weighs 350 pounds or more, stood on his back for about 10 seconds.
The teacher allegedly told an investigator that the students were supposed to line up against a wall during the drill, but instead, the child lay down on the floor. The teacher claimed he stepped on the student because he felt that the class was not taking the drill seriously, as stated in the criminal complaint.
