A woman lost her unborn baby and is in critical condition after she was hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver in St. Cloud, according to WJON news.
St. Cloud Police said that the driver, 32-year-old Christopher Otte of Avon, was westbound on Feb. 13 when his SUV swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a minivan driven by Nastaho Amare, 34, who was in the late stages of pregnancy.
Amare was trapped inside a burning van when she was rescued and taken to St. Cloud Hospital.
Otte suffered non-life threatening injuries and was booked into the Stears County jail, where he is being held on charges of criminal vehicular homicide for operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
