A Stearns County jail inmate died after having a medical emergency in his cell, WCCO reports.
Isiah Oluwasheun Ero-Phillips, 34, was arrested around 9 a.m. on Sept. 11 on suspicion of felony domestic assault. At the time of his intake, Ero-Phillips was heavily intoxicated, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
About 44 hours later, the Sheriff’s Office said Ero-Phillips was found while staff were conducting well-being checks at 3:49 a.m. on Sept. 12. Despite life-saving efforts, Ero-Phillips was pronounced dead by ambulance staff.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the death.
