Semi-truck sideswipe in Olmsted County leads to 72-year-old woman’s death

A 72-year-old woman was killed on June 16 as a result of a semi-driver side-swiping another car, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Evelyn Marie Brye, of St. Peter, was driving east in Marion Township in Olmsted County. Meanwhile, a semi driven by 43-year-old Louis Plaskey was driving west when he sideswiped a woman driving a Nissan Altima, the State Patrol said.

The Altima driver was forced into the eastbound lane and collided with Brye, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
