Fatal head-on collision in Eden Prairie allegedly caused by drunk driver

A 69-year-old Hopkins man died on April 11 after he was hit head-on in Eden Prairie by a woman suspected to have been drunk, according to the State Patrol.

Amanda Lyn Merriman, 50, was driving a pickup the wrong way on Highway 212 near Prairie Center Drive when she collided with Bohdan Antoniuk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Merriman has been charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide – Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol. According to the criminal charge, she told officers she had two drinks prior to the crash.
