A Wisconsin woman who broke an infant’s leg while working at a Woodbury day care center in 2024 avoided jail time when she was sentenced this week, according to KSTP.
Chantelle Michelle Cheri Vevang, 36, worked at the Stepping Stones Early Learning Center in April 2024, when she abused the 9-month-old girl, who suffered a broken femur.
Vevang was sentenced to 45 days of home detention/electronic monitoring or work release and two years of supervised probation. If she violates the terms of her probation, she could be ordered to serve 319 days in jail.
Vevang was initially charged with malicious punishment of a child after breaking the femur of a 9-month-old girl in her care at Stepping Stones Early Learning Center.
