Man accused of killing Cokato co-worker because he didn’t like her

A 20-year-old Hutchinson woman died on Tuesday after her co-worker allegedly bludgeoned her to death with a sledgehammer because he didn’t like her, according to numerous media reports.

Amber Czech was an employee of Advanced Process Technologies in Cokato, a food and dairy processor. According to the criminal charges, 40-year-old David Delong was seen on video picking up a sledgehammer from a workstation and swinging it multiple times at Czech. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

After his arrest, the criminal charges say Delong allegedly confessed and told investigators he did not like Czech, and had been planning to kill her.
