A 19-year-old Duluth group home employee faces multiple charges after being accused of driving two residents in a company van while high, then driving at speeds in excess of 100 mph before crashing into another vehicle and seriously injuring that driver, according to multiple media reports.
The employee, Michael Edward Rahja Jr., allegedly told police that he drank half a bottle of vodka and was vaping and smoking pot all night before taking a Chrysler van with two residents inside. Numerous witnesses called police to report that the van driver was weaving in- and out-of-traffic at dangerously high speeds, according to KARE 11.
Rahja then crashed into a Honda Pilot driven by a woman who suffered a fractured pelvis, three fractured vertebrae and a concussion from the crash, according to Fox9.
