A 25-year-old Wisconsin man working at a construction zone in Maple Grove died last week after being struck by a dump truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Adam Smith was working as a contractor on Sept. 25 on Eastbound Highway 610 at Maple Grove Parkway when a dump truck went into reverse and hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Smith’s death is Minnesota’s second workplace road construction fatality in the last week. The day before Smith was killed, Pierre Mack, 29, was working on Interstate 35 in Burnsville when he was hit and killed by a construction truck with a boom lift.
