Day care worker who cut Rochester 1-year-old with pizza cutter sentenced

A Pipestone, Minnesota woman who cut a 1-year-old with a pizza cutter at a Rochester child care center was sentenced on Monday to more than eight years in prison, the Rochester Post Bulletin is reporting.

Adrianna Newburn, 27, was working at the KinderCare child care center in Southwest Rochester according to the Star Tribune. Newburn grabbed a pizza cutter from a back room and threatened to cut a co-worker, then threatened to cut the co-worker’s child.

Witnesses told police they saw Newburn go into the day care’s infant room and slash at the co-worker’s 14-month-old baby. Newburn cut large laceration into the child’s right cheek.
