Woman who suffered “life-threatening” panic attacks dies in Bloomington city jail

Investigators will work to determine why a 29-year-old woman died at the Bloomington city jail on March 13, according to the Star Tribune.

Desiree Rosell was booked into the jail on suspicion of second-degree assault at about 5:40 p.m. on March 12. She was found unresponsive about 8 ½ hours later.

Bloomington Police told the Star Tribune that the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department will investigate the case.

Rosell’s brother posted on a GoFundMe page that when she was arrested, “officers were told that she has severe asthma and anxiety that can cause life threatening panic attack. She was placed alone in an isolated holding cell.”
