A St. Paul woman has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide in a hit-and-run after a nearby Tesla captured footage of the crash, FOX 9 reports.
Gabryella Marie Liebgott, 22, was driving in Northeast Minneapolis during the early morning hours of March 22 when she allegedly struck 22-year-old Seham Hassen as she was crossing a street, according to police. Hassen later died at Hennepin County Medical Center.
The Tesla footage reportedly showed that Hassen tried to get out of the path of the oncoming car, but didn’t have time before she was struck, according to FOX 9. The suspect vehicle then took off.
According to charges, the car was found at a Washington County auto body shop. FOX 9 says the car was processed for evidence, swabs of blood were also collected, along with fabric consistent with Hassen’s dress.
