Report: Documents show reveal details about infant’s death at Savage daycare

KARE 11 reports that court records reveal one employee was involved in three incidents at a Savage daycare where one infant was twice found coughing up blood-tinged vomit, and another who died.

Police were first called to the Rocking Horse Ranch on Sept. 19, when the employee burped an infant and said the girl threw up a “bloodlike substance.” The baby later turned “white purple” and wasn’t breathing, according to KARE 11. The employee called 911 and the girl was taken to a hospital.

Three days later, on Sept. 22, police say the employee put the same infant girl on her stomach to sleep in a crib, KARE 11 reports.

The employee told police that the baby later vomited a blood-like substance, according to KARE 11. The employee says the infant was lethargic and not acting like herself, and that her parents picked her up.

Later that day, according to court records, the same employee was caring for another infant who was found unresponsive and later declared dead at a hospital.

The Department of Human Services temporarily suspended the Rocking Horse Ranch’s license, which the daycare is challenging.
