A Minnetonka man who avoided prison after driving more than 90 miles per hour before hitting and severely injuring a Hopkins teen has been accused of violating probation, KARE 11 reports.
The driver, Mohamed Aydarus Salad, was speeding through a Minnetonka intersection when he struck a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Lauren Olson.
Olson was hospitalized with catastrophic injuries, including brain trauma, a broken leg and internal bleeding, according to KARE 11. She was in a coma for two weeks and did not leave the hospital for two months.
Salad was sentenced to about seven months in jail and probation after pleading guilty to a felony. The Minnesota Department of Corrections says Salad violated his probation for failing to attend a cognitive skills class, failing to contact his probation officer, and failing to take a mental health screening, according to KARE 11
