Child welfare had been called numerous times to a Big Lake home before a 6-month-old infant died of bacterial meningitis, according to KARE 11.
In June 2023, a report for inadequate resulted in a “detailed plan” was sent to the family, KARE 11 reported. A second report claimed inadequate supervision in April 2024. This time, CPS left a voicemail for the children’s mother, according to KARE 11.
Eight children were removed from the home after the baby’s death. WCCO reports that law enforcement called the home “unfit for living.”
