A Champlin paraprofessional has been charged for allegedly striking a 10-year-old non-verbal student with autism in May, according to KARE 11.
The charges allege that a witness walked into the room and saw the para hit the boy two-to-three times as he laid on the ground.
The witness told police the para’s fist was closed, and she appeared to be using her palm to hit the child on the head, according to the criminal charges.
The aide faces one count of malicious punishment of a child and two counts of fifth-degree assault.
