Four people were injured, including three children, after a school bus driver crashed into a Hamline University building in St. Paul on Tuesday, May 2, according to multiple media reports.
About 12 children were on board the bus when it crashed, according to the St. Paul Police Department. A witness told KSTP that the bus driver was driving at speeds of 40 to 50 mph when the bus crashed through a Hamline University sign then into the side of a school building.
According to WCCO, an attorney who represents Pride Transportation, the company that owns the bus, said based on an initial analysis that the driver was new, and that he pushed the gas instead of the brake.
Three of the children on the bus as well as the bus driver were taken to a hospital to be examined for minor injuries, according to the SPPD.
