Man’s death following tasing ruled a homicide

Several media outlets are reporting that a 75-year-old Willmar man’s death has been ruled a homicide after he was tased by a sheriff’s deputy in January. The incident happened at the man’s home when law enforcement officers went to perform a court-ordered eviction, according to MPR News. After the deputies entered the man’s home, he walked toward them with a kitchen knife, MPR reported. His death was listed as “blunt force injuries to the head” with an underlying cause of “fall in the setting of taser deployment by law enforcement,” according to KWLM radio.
