KSTP is reporting that a Red Wing couple is facing 16 counts of child abuse regarding their four children ages 2, 5, 7, and 9. A report was made by a caller to the Goodhue County Health and Human Services in concerned for the welfare of the children, telling police that the children are locked up in cages. An investigator and social worker arrived at the family’s home and discovered the cages used to contain the children overnight. After medical examination at a local hospital, the kids were found to have extensive bruising, the result of being hit repeatedly by an object like a belt.
