Minneapolis Reaches $700,000 Settlement Following Shooting and Unlawful Detention

The Star Tribune is reporting that the city of Minneapolis has reached a $700,000 settlement after unlawfully detaining 4 siblings after witnessing the shooting of their father. Chiasher Vue, was shot by police in December of 2019, with four of his children witnessing from inside squad cars. After the shooting, the siblings were taken to city hall where they were forced to stay for hours before being interviewed. According to the article, his children offered their help in calming their father down, only for the offer to be rejected by police just before Vue was shot.
