Judge rules Texas school can punish black teen over his hairstyle

The Associated Press along with numerous other news outlets is reporting that a Texas judge has ruled that a school can continue to suspend a black teenager over the length of his hair. The 18-year-old has been suspended for months after the Texas school deemed that his hair violated its dress code. The judge ruled that the school’s suspension does not violate Texas’ discrimination laws. The teen’s attorneys have said they will appeal the ruling, and have also filed a federal lawsuit.
