3M employee killed at Wisconsin factory

The Star Tribune is reporting that a 3M employee died last May at the Prairie du Chien 3M Plant in Wisconsin. This was the second death at a 3M factory since 2022, according to the Star Tribune. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued two willful safety violations against 3M, which are given only when OSHA believes a company shows “intentional disregard or plain indifference” to worker safety, the Star Tribune reported.

3M said in a statement that, “Though we seek to amicably resolve this matter, we do not agree with the situation being characterized as ‘willful,’ as well as other aspects of its proposed citations and details of its public statements on this matter.”
